Detailed itinerary
DAY ONE
Arrive at Port Elizabeth airport, once you have all your luggage depart for your game reserve. On arrival at the reserve check in and familiarize yourself with the hotel and its surroundings. For the Afternoon a game drive to catch those predators on their nightly kill. Return to the lodge freshen up and enjoy a Boma Setting for Dinner.

4 STAR OPTION:
The malaria free Amakhala Game Reserve began in 1999 as a joint conservation venture. The five independently owned lodges are all owner managed by the descendants of the original families who arrived here with the British settlers of 1820. Amakhala Game Reserve is a unique conservation initiative that allows animals to be re-introduced to the area where they once roamed freely. Reed Valley Inn is nestled in a farmyard and is comprised of four historic en-suite country rooms, which once provided rest and safety for the travelers on the mail wagon. Each room has a separate entrance on to a private patio. Children of all ages are welcome.

5 STAR OPTION:
A small and intimate lodge that can accommodate a maximum of 8 guests, set on the Bushman's River in the malaria free Big Five private Shamwari Game Reserve of 20 000 hectares, close to Addo en route to Grahamstown. Four en-suite, airconiditioned rooms provide the ultimate in privacy and luxury. Activities from the lodge include morning and evening game drives or walking safaris, accompanied by your personal ranger. Shamwari Game Reserve prides itself on the knowledge and professionalism of their rangers.

DAY TWO

Early rise as you depart on your morning game drive, return to the Lodge for breakfast. Enjoy the day at leisure. For the afternoon another game drive. Return to the lodge in time for a delicious dinner!

DAY THREE

After your early morning game drive and breakfast you depart your reserve for your next expedition! Depart for Knysna stopping along the way at the Knysna Bird and Elephant Sanctuary. After an enjoyable day it time to head to your overnight destination. Arrive at your hotel for the evening at leisure.

DAY FOUR

Breakfast and check out, depart for Oudsthoorn stopping along the way at the Cango Caves for the famous tour! After your tour of the magnificent Cango Caves move on to the Cango Wild Life Ranch. Here you will have the opportunity to touch and have a photo taken with Cheetahs ( own cost ). Continue your journey to your hotel in Cape Town. Arrive at your hotel for the late afternoon and evening at leisure.

DAY FIVE:
Half day City and Table Mountain
Situated below Table Mountain, Devil’s Peak and Lion’s Head, Cape Town offers a rich cultural and industrial heritage, grand splendour and an assurance of activity of excitement at the V&A Waterfront. Including all the `must-sees` of any Cape Town day tour, this option is a geographical and cultural extravaganza, showing you Cape Town, from its historical beginnings to the dazzling modern shopping malls of the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront.

The tour commences with a tour of Table Mountain (weather permitting; cable car fee not included). In the city itself, we visit the Company Gardens, the S.A. Museum, the Castle of Good Hope and the vibrant and arty flea market, Greenmarket Square. We take a trip through the picturesque Bo-Kaap.

Half day Cape Point
This is an awe-inspiring tour to the towering headland known as Cape Point. Magnificent beaches, breathtaking views, historic and picturesque coastal villages are to be seen along the way. The Cape Peninsula is one of the world`s most scenic areas and stretches from the City centre to Cape Point.

Tour commences at 8:30. We travel along the Atlantic Seaboard via Sea Point, Clifton and Camps Bay, stopping at a Llandudno look-out point before continuing to Hout Bay, a quaint village and fishing harbour with magnificent mountain views and beach. Optional: Seal Island boat trip (seasonal) (not incl. in cost). On through Chapman`s Peak , one of the world`s most breathtaking coastal drives, to Cape Point and the Good Hope Nature Reserve, which has magnificent fynbos vegetation, birdlife, endemic antelope species and zebra, historic lighthouses and shipwrecks. Cape Point is perceived to be the meeting point of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans.

We go on to historic Simon’s Town, a village with charming Victorian architecture, a naval base and a large penguin colony at the beautiful Boulders Beach. The tour ends at ± 13:30 for morning departures and 17:30 for afternoon departures.

DAY SIX:

Halfday winelands
The tour commences at 08:30 in the morning and 13:30 in the afternoon. Head off to the wine-country via the N1 to one of the Cape’s first farming districts – Paarl. The town is set at the foot of the cluster of remarkable granite domes from which it takes its name. Our first stop of the morning is the picturesque Seidelberg Wine Estate. Established in 1692 under the name Den Leuwenjagt, Seidelberg offers one of the most spectacular settings in the Cape Winelands. An informative cellar tour and winetasting gives visitors personalised insight into the finer points of wine-making.

Onward to Stellenbosch, the heart of the South African wine Industry, boasting great beauty and culture that is steeped in South African history. Walk down the canal-lined avenues, in the shade of giant oak trees and beautifully preserved historic buildings. Coffee shops, galleries, antique shops and wine bars spill onto the sidewalks. An air of quiet intellectualism and wine-making history abounds in this university town. With the sheer vastness of wine estates on offer, we a truly spoilt for choice when we enjoy our final winetasting of the day in Stellenbosch. We return to the bustle of city life after an enthralling day in the countryside, arriving back at the hotels at approximately 13:30 for morning departures and 17:30 for afternoon departures.

DAY SEVEN

Breakfast at your hotel and check out! Depart for Cape Town International airport in time for your flight home.

The balance / cancellation is due by the 12th October 07

  • Cancellations : All cancellations are requested in writing.
  • Ten percent (10%) of the deposit paid will be refunded if the booking is cancelled prior to the full balance due date, being the 12th October 07.
  • Fifty percent (50%) of the full amount , if cancellation is on or between 60 and 30 days before arrival
  • One hundred percent (100%) of the full amount, if cancellation is 30 days or less
    before arrival.
